Hold Forth Photography

We, hannah goldstein & Maria Sandgren, have created an online course platform for everyone with a camera and a great interest in art and documentary photography. Our workshops and courses are suitable for those who wish to develop their artistic practice and who seek to embody and understand what it is to be human through photography.

We want to offer an aesthetic pause from everyday life and work. In the break, we want to open up for an in-depth moments about photography through the practice of the course participants and other photographers.

We, hannah and Maria, create and lead online courses in photography based on our expertise. hannah is an artist with photography in focus and has extensive experience in leading workshops and courses. Maria is a photographer, educator, and psychologist. She contributes with psychological knowledge about creativity and the human life path. She will provide input and reading to the images from these perspectives.

Vision with photography and psychology

Here are a few words about how psychology is one of the cornerstones of workshops and courses. We are inspired by relationships and the human life cycle. Who we are and what we do are different in different life phases. Various life phases highlight particular issues and themes but not others. Photographers throughout the history of photography have worked with these issues and phases. Read more about the psychology of workshops and courses.

We do not offer therapy but an aesthetic break where participants can deepen their artistic understanding, develop their photographic practice, and reflect on interpersonal relationships and life paths.

Online workshops and courses

We live and work in Stockholm and Berlin, respectively, and therefore work 100% online. We know from experience that we can be creative in online meetings.

We both have many years of experience in learning and teaching - Hannah in photography and Maria in psychology. For the pedagogical approach, we will apply our experiences and current research on the conditions of learning for online education in terms of sustainability, creativity, and artistic development.
